GroupHab + Dedicated Therapy
Helping Older Adults Become More Active and Independent
Additional Location Information:
Shannon Cobb is the Greenville, South Carolina area ’s leading physical therapist who helps people 65+ become more active and independent, even if they are living with a chronic condition like Stroke or Parkinson’s disease.
In 2016, Shannon left a career of working for large corporate healthcare organizations to start a clinic that could focus on each patient in a more complete way. She noted that options specialist care for people with stroke and brain injury were lacking and she wanted to create a place that could cater to the needs of those working to make improvement- even years after their event.
She was frustrated by the lack of support after a plan of care and wanted to ensure there were options for those who needed more than they were getting with traditional therapy models. Along the way, she discovered that many people in our community have a need for support that a knowledgeable Physical Therapist can provide. An expert in providing programs to help people reach their goals for mobility and independence outside of traditional Physical Therapy plans of care. That is why she chose to offer Grouphab® group Exercise classes. She believes in the Grouphab® Vision: A world in which every person is empowered to achieve maximal health and wellness.
She founded Dedicated Therapy because she wanted to provide the services that were lacking in other clinics where she worked. She was frustrated with the standard therapy that occurs with little thoughtfor follow up and support in the journey of increasing or maintaining mobility and independence. So Dedicated Therapy has a variety of services not offered at typical therapy clinics to benefit Older Adults who want to continue doing the things that they love...
Shannon graduated with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami.
SHE is Neuro-IFRAH® Certified and Advanced Train with over 300 hours of training in Stroke and Brain Injury specific treatment... She is also a PWR! Certified therapist for the treatment of people with Parkinson’s Disease.
The mission of Dedicated Therapy is to help people become more active and independent. We believe improvement is possible!
